Quick Answer
To reset your DentalOS password, select 'Forgot password' on the sign-in page if your organization has self-service password reset enabled, or ask your DentalOS administrator to generate a reset link and code for you.
Applies To
Product: DentalOS
Plan: All plans
Role: All users
Option 1: Reset It Yourself (Self-Service Password Reset Is On)
If you forgot your password and cannot sign in:
- Go to the DentalOS sign-in page.
- Select 'Forgot password'.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to choose a new password.
- Sign in with your new password.
If you are already signed in and want to change your password:
- Select your profile icon at the top of the page.
- Choose the option to reset your password.
- Follow the prompts to choose a new password.
Your new password must meet your organization's password requirements, including a minimum length of 12 characters.
Option 2: Ask Your Administrator (Self-Service Password Reset Is Off)
If you do not see 'Forgot password' on the sign-in page or a reset option in your profile, your organization has turned self-service password reset off. Ask your DentalOS administrator to reset your password.
Your administrator generates a reset link and code for you. When you receive them:
- Open the reset password link.
- Enter the code and your username.
- Set a new password and sign in.
| Note: The link and code are valid for 24 hours or until you use them for the first time, whichever comes first. If it expires, ask your administrator for a new one. If you have not yet completed your account setup, your administrator will send you a new invitation or setup link instead. |
If You Use a Password Manager
DentalOS uses a different web address (URL) than the product you signed in to before. Password managers such as your browser's saved passwords, 1Password, LastPass, Dashlane, or Bitwarden save credentials for a specific web address. Because of this, the password you saved for Denticon, Cloud 9, or Apteryx will not carry over or autofill on the DentalOS sign-in page.
To set up your password manager for DentalOS:
- Go to the DentalOS sign-in page and sign in by typing your username and password manually.
- When your password manager offers to save the login, choose 'Save' (or 'Add') so it is stored for the DentalOS web address.
- If you reset your password, update the saved entry so your password manager has the new password.
- Keep or remove your old entries as you prefer. They still apply to the old web addresses but will not fill in DentalOS.
| Note: If your password manager did not offer to save the login, create a new entry for the DentalOS web address. Do not edit your old entry, so you do not overwrite credentials that still apply elsewhere. |
