Quick Answer
When you enable SSO in DentalOS, the system validates the values you enter from your Microsoft Entra app registration. A red outline and a validation message appear under any field that contains an error. Use the table below to find your message and fix it.
Applies To
Product: DentalOS
Plan: All plans
Role: Admin
Before You Begin
- In your Entra app registration, add the redirect URI shown in the 'Azure app registration values' box under 'App registration > Authentication'.
- Grant the Microsoft Graph permissions shown in the same box: email, offline_access, openid, profile, and User.Read.
- Make sure each user has an email address on their DentalOS record and that their DentalOS username matches their Entra email.
Validation Messages and Fixes
When you turn on 'Enable SSO', DentalOS validates the values you entered. Any field that needs attention is highlighted with a red outline and a message beneath it.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Enter valid tenant ID | Copy the organization's (tenant) ID from your Microsoft Entra tenant and paste it into the 'Tenant ID' field. Check for extra spaces. |
| Client ID must be a valid UUID | Copy the Application (client) ID from your Azure app registration. It must be in UUID format. |
| Client secret is required | Paste the client secret value from your Azure app registration. Copy the secret value, not the secret ID. |
| Name field is empty | Enter a display name for this SSO configuration. It is required. |
If you turn 'Enable SSO' off, the 'Tenant ID', 'Client ID', 'Client secret', and 'Name' fields become unavailable.
For the full setup process, see "Set up single sign-on (SSO) with Microsoft Entra".
