Quick Answer
The 'Assign access' step in DentalOS lets you choose which locations and products (Cloud 9 and Denticon) a user can access. DentalOS passes your selections to Cloud 9 and Denticon, which update the user's access automatically.
Applies To
Product: DentalOS, Cloud 9, Denticon
Plan: All plans
Role: Admin
Steps
- In the 'Add user' workflow, proceed to the 'Access' step. The 'Assign access' panel will open.
→ You will see: a list of organization groups and locations, with columns for 'Cloud 9' and 'Denticon'.
- Use the 'Search groups or locations' box to find a specific location, or expand an organization group to see its locations. Each location shows its city and state.
- Select the 'Cloud 9' checkbox, the 'Denticon' checkbox, or both for each location you want the user to access. A location that is not set up in a product will have no checkbox for that product.
- To select every location within a group at once, select the checkbox next to the organization group name.
- To select every location for a single product at once, select the checkbox at the top of the 'Cloud 9' or 'Denticon' column. A partly filled box in that column means only some locations are selected.
- When you have finished making selections, select 'Send invite'. To go back and change user information, select 'Back'.
→ You will see: the 'Send invite' and 'Back' buttons at the bottom of the panel.
Access by Role
- Users are assigned access at the individual location level, as described above.
- Group Admins are assigned at the organization group level, not per location.
- Super Admins skip this step entirely, because they automatically receive access to all locations and products.
To review a user's access later, see "Open a user's product settings from DentalOS".
