Quick Answer
In DentalOS, an email address is optional when adding a user (unless your organization uses single sign-on). If a user has no email address, generate a setup link and one-time setup code from the Invite step and share them directly with the user.
Applies To
Product: DentalOS
Plan: All plans
Role: Admin
Before You Begin
- An email address is required if your organization uses single sign-on (SSO). This process applies only to organizations that do not use SSO.
Steps
- Select 'Users', then select 'Add user'.
- Enter the user's first name, last name, and a username. DentalOS checks the username as you type and shows "Username is available" when it can be used.
- Leave the 'Email' field blank. Optionally enter a phone number, which is used for account recovery.
- Choose the role and permissions, then select 'Next'.
- On the 'Assign access' step, choose the locations and products for the user, then select 'Send invite'. See "Assign location and product access to a user".
- On the 'Invite' step, the message "No email address provided. The user will need manual account setup." appears under 'Send invitation'.
- In the 'Manual setup' section, select 'Generate setup link & code'.
- Copy the 'Setup link' and the 'Setup code' and give them directly to the user.
Note: Share the setup link and code directly with the user. Do not send setup information by email or text. The code is valid for 24 hours or until its first use.
Expected Result
The 'Manual setup' section displays a 'Setup link' and a 'Setup code' that you can copy and hand to the user. When the user completes setup using that link and code, their account is active. If the code expires before the user finishes, see "Resend an invitation or manual setup link".
What the User Does Next
See "Finish setting up your DentalOS account". If the code expires before the user finishes, see "Resend an invitation or manual setup link".
After You Finish
Select 'Configure product accounts' to set the user's permissions in Denticon and Cloud 9, or select 'Back to users'. See "Configure product accounts for a new user".
