Quick Answer
After you add a user in DentalOS and assign them to Cloud 9 locations, open Cloud 9 from DentalOS, find the employee in the Employees setup list, and set their permissions on the 'Login/Permissions' tab.
Applies To
Product: Cloud 9, DentalOS
Plan: All plans
Role: Admin
Before You Begin
- The user must already be created in DentalOS and assigned to Cloud 9 locations before completing these steps.
Steps
- In DentalOS, select 'Users', open the three-dot menu for the user, and select 'View profile'.
- Open the 'Org & product access' tab and select 'Manage Cloud 9 settings'. You can also open Cloud 9 from the Launchpad.
- If Cloud 9 asks you to choose a schedule view, select a schedule and select 'Proceed'.
- In Cloud 9, go to 'Edit' > 'Setup', then select 'Employees' in the list on the left.
- Search for the employee by name. The new user appears with the type 'DentalOS User' and their DentalOS username in the 'Login' column.
- Select the employee and select 'Edit'.
- On the 'Login/Permissions' tab, select the permissions the user needs. The 'Login Name' appears on this tab but cannot be edited there.
- Select 'Save'.
Expected Result
When complete, the employee record is saved with the selected permissions applied. The user can log in to Cloud 9 and access the features matching the permissions you selected.
Note: You create and delete users in DentalOS, not in Cloud 9. Use Cloud 9 only to set what each user can do.
