Quick Answer
After DentalOS creates a user in Denticon, complete their setup inside Denticon by adding group memberships and setting their role. These steps must be done in Denticon after the user is created in DentalOS.
Applies To
Product: Denticon, DentalOS
Plan: All plans
Role: Admin
Open the User in Denticon
- In DentalOS, select 'Users', open the three-dot menu for the user, and select 'View profile'.
- Open the 'Org & product access' tab and select 'Manage Denticon settings'. Denticon opens. You can also open Denticon from the Launchpad.
- In Denticon, go to 'Setup' > 'Security' > 'Users'. The User Setup page opens.
- Search for the user by name. Use the 'Sort by' and 'Search in' options to narrow the list, then select the user.
The user's details open on tabs: Login Info, Office Access, Permitted IPs, Group Memberships, Time Clock, and User Settings.
Add Group Memberships
A new user has no group memberships until you add them.
- Select the 'Group Memberships' tab, then select 'Edit User'.
- In the 'Available User Groups' list, select the group or groups the user needs. Hold Ctrl and click to select more than one.
- Use the arrow buttons to move the groups into the 'Assigned User Groups' list.
- Select 'Save'.
→ You will see: Denticon confirms with "Saved successfully."
Set the User's Role
- Open the 'User Settings' tab and select 'Edit User'.
- Choose the appropriate role in the 'User Role/Type' field. You can also review other settings on this tab, such as the start-up screen, toolbar, and default search.
- Select 'Save'.
→ You will see: Denticon confirms with "Saved Successfully."
Note: Also assign the user a home office in Denticon. Without a home office, the user can land in a default office where they do not have the right permissions.
Expected Result
When complete, the user will have their group memberships listed under 'Assigned User Groups' and their role will appear in the 'User Role/Type' field on the 'User Settings' tab. Denticon displays "Saved Successfully" after each save action to confirm the changes were recorded.
