Quick Answer
When you open Apteryx imaging from a patient record in Denticon, a small authentication pop-up appears. This is the DentalOS sign-in handshake connecting DentalOS, Denticon, and Apteryx XVWeb. Once the handshake completes, Apteryx XVWeb opens inside Denticon for that patient.

Product: Apteryx, Denticon, DentalOS

Role: All users
Before You Begin
- Your organization's browser must allow pop-ups. If pop-ups are blocked, the sign-in can fail with no obvious error.
What to Expect
When you open the imaging system from a patient record in Denticon, a small pop-up appears. This pop-up is the DentalOS authentication handshake between DentalOS, Denticon, and Apteryx. After it completes, Apteryx XVWeb loads inside the Denticon window for the selected patient.
- The pop-up appears only when a new Apteryx session starts. Users with an active session will not see it every time.
- Through DentalOS, every Apteryx user now has an individual user record. Previously, users shared one account and individual actions could not be audited. With individual records, you can track what each user does in Apteryx.
