Quick Answer
After creating a user in DentalOS, select 'Configure product accounts' to open their product access settings, then configure their permissions directly inside Denticon and Cloud 9. DentalOS creates the user account, but permissions within each product must be set in that product.
Applies To
Product: Denticon, Cloud 9, DentalOS
Plan: All plans
Role: Admin
Steps
- After creating a user, select 'Configure product accounts'. This opens the user's 'Org & product access' tab, which shows the organization the user belongs to, the products they can access, and a 'Manage settings' link for each product.
→ You will see: the Org & product access tab with a 'Manage settings' link listed for each product.
- Select 'Manage Denticon settings' or 'Manage Cloud 9 settings' to open the user in that product.
In Denticon:
- Go to Setup > Security > Users and find the user.
- Add the user's group membership (it is blank by default) and edit any other user settings you need.
- On the 'User Settings' tab, select 'Edit User', choose the user's role in the 'User Role/Type' field, and select 'Save'.
- Assign the user a home office in Denticon. Without a home office, the user can land in a default office where they do not have the right permissions.
In Cloud 9:
- Go to Edit > Setup > Employees, find the user, and give them the permissions they need.
Expected Result
When complete, the user can sign in to DentalOS once they have set their password, then open Denticon and Cloud 9 and do the work their permissions allow. You do not need to set permissions for the user in Apteryx.
Notes
- If you are not ready to configure the user right away, you can come back later: select 'Users', find the user, and open their profile.
- Known issue: location access for Super Admins can lag. If a Super Admin does not see a location they should have access to, check again after a short time.
