Quick Answer
The DentalOS IP Allowlist restricts sign-in access to specific trusted IP addresses or ranges. Add your trusted addresses in 'Manage security settings', then turn on the 'Allowlist: Firewall' toggle to enforce the restriction for all users in your organization.
Applies To
Product: DentalOS
Plan: All plans
Role: Admin
Steps
- Select 'My Organization', then select 'Manage security settings'.
- Select the 'IP Allowlist' tab.
- Select 'Add IP address'.
- In the new row, enter the IP address or range (IPv4, IPv6, or CIDR) in the 'IP Address/Range' field, and enter a description in the 'Description' field (for example, the name of your office or partner network). Leave 'Status' as 'Enabled', or change it as needed.
- Select 'Save' to keep the entry, or 'Cancel' to discard it. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each trusted address or range.
- Turn on the 'Allowlist: Firewall' toggle to activate the firewall.
Expected Result
When complete, the 'Allowlist: Firewall' toggle is on and only users signing in from an enabled IP address on the list can access DentalOS or any connected product such as Denticon or Cloud 9. The IP Allowlist applies to all users in your organization. Each entry displays its IP address or range, description, date added, and status. You can search for any entry using the search box.
Turning Off the Firewall or Changing Entries
At any point you can turn off the 'Allowlist: Firewall' toggle. You can also disable or delete individual IP addresses from the list at any time.
Note: You must have at least one enabled IP address before you can turn on the firewall. If you attempt to turn on the firewall without one, DentalOS displays the message: "At least one enabled IP address is required while the IP allowlist is on."
