Introduction:
D2952 and D2954 can use the "pins" as a method of drawing the pre-existing condition, but in general "post and core" are not drawable procedures within Denticon. Using the following methods as a work around will allow a user to chart a post and core on the restorative chart.
Process description:
Users can update the way procedure codes D2952 and D2954 draw on the restorative chart, or they can update an existing material to read "Post and Core".
Prerequisites:
Any user wanting to update the way procedures draw on the restorative chart will first need to have the security right "Setup Procedure Codes Screen Full Control" assigned to them.
Any user wanting to edit an existing material will need the security right "Setup Chart Materials Screen Full Control"
Step-by-step instructions:
To update the chart drawing to 'Pins':
- Go to Setup>Procedure Codes >Procedure Codes and select the code.
- Click the Edit button.
- Click the Charting Tab
- Update the Draw Chart As field to 'Pins' and Save.
To update a charting material:
- Go to Setup>Charting>Materials
- Select a material that you do not use
- Click Edit button
- Change name of material
- Save
Tips and best practices:
Changing the setup of a material will affect all offices in a PGID, users should get approval from leadership at the organization level before changing the material setup.
