Introduction:
Denticon includes a "watch" feature to place a reminder for further review of a concern on specific tooth via the Restorative Chart's Pre-Existing tab.
Process description:
- Charting > Advanced Charting
- Restorative Chart > Pre-Existing
- Select an entire tooth.
- Click 'Watch' and select a direction.
- Drag and drop the watch to the area of concern.
- Click on the watch to add any necessary notes and macros.
- Press 'Save' to confirm.
- Review details from Pre-Existing each time you want to review your notes.
- Click on the watch and select delete when it is no longer need. This cannot be undone.
Prerequisites:
- Security Permissions
- Transactions - Add Pre-Existing Conditions
Step-by-step instructions:
- Select the Charting > Advance Charting drop-down menu; this will automatically load the Advanced Charting's Restorative Chart module by default at the beginning of each browsing session in Denticon.
- Alternatively, select Charting > Restorative Chart for access to the Restorative Chart exclusively.
- Within the Restorative Chart select the Pre-Existing tab on the right. Most users have this tab set to 'blue' so the screen's right side will appear as blue (or the other selected color) when the tab is clicked.
- Click the area around a tooth to select the whole tooth and click the Watch option from Pre-Existing tab on the right, then selecting a direction to place the watch.
- If desired, you can now drag and drop the watch to the exact spot that the provider is concerned with.
- To add any notes about the watch or details about the area being watched, click the watch arrow that appears in the chart.
- These optional features are highly recommended for future review. Notes can be added to the Watch Notes area by typing or by double-clicking the Macro lines below the note box.
- Press Save to confirm the Add Watch Notes details.
- You can now either click the arrow of the watch to re-enter the editing module or 'hover to discover' with your cursor to reveal details entered about the watch from the editing module previous.
- Continue to review your Watch each visit and remove it when necessary. You can do this by pressing Delete in Add Watch Notes. This cannot be undone so be sure you are finished before deleting

Tips and best practices:
When should I remove a watch?
- Only after treatment is complete for a watch. Most providers refer to these watches and their notes over the course of several visits.
- If the provider who made the note is no longer working with your practice, wait until another provider can assess the patient's condition before making changes to the chart's watches.
- As stated above, removing this data is a permanent change. The Denticon Support Team will not be able to recover the data once deleted.
Next steps:
Monitor the watch each visit the patient comes. The watch can be used to help other providers be aware that there may be a need for future treatment depending on the progress of the tooth's condition. If the concern is treated and not expected to return, you can remove it by pressing Delete in Add Watch Notes.
