For the best Denticon Practice Analytics (DPA) experience, use the Provider Goals in Denticon (Setup -> Provider -> Provider Goals). If no Provider Goals are set, Denticon will automatically populate them. This article explains how these values are calculated, enhancing your interaction with the DPA dashboards.
The Daily Goal and Working Days column values in the Provider Goal setup(Setup → Provider → Provider Goals) screen will be updated automatically. This update operation will be performed only for those PGIDs which have the Denticon Practice Analytics site feature enabled.
How many month's goal value will be updated:
The automation will consider all the months (both previous and upcoming) of the current year. Whether it will update for all the months or not, will depend on the Provider Effective Schedule site feature.
-
When the Provider Effective Schedule site feature is enabled for a PGID:
-
It will update the Daily Goal and Working Days based on the effective schedule of providers. If a provider has an effective schedule that starts from April 2023 then it will update all the remaining months after April (including April) of the year. If there are multiple effective schedules for a provider, then it will consider the minimum one among them.
-
-
When the Provider Effective Schedule site feature is NOT enabled for a PGID:
-
It will update the Daily Goal and Working Days for all 12 months of a particular year.
-
How the Daily Goal and Working Days columns will be calculated:
-
If all of the providers working in an office don’t have any Daily Goals for a month, then the Daily Goal and Working Days column value will be updated for all of the providers in that office for that month. If there is at least one provider that has a non-zero Daily Goal value for a month in that office, then the Daily Goal and Working Days column values will not be updated for any providers for that month in that office.
-
To calculate Daily Goal for a provider in an office, the last six months' actual productions are considered.
-
The Average Production per Working Day for a provider is calculated for each of the last six months and the average is taken to prefill the Daily Goal of that provider.
-
To calculate the Average Production per Working Day for a provider for a month, the following formula is used.
Average Production per Working Day = Actual Production / No. Of Days Worked
-
For the Actual Production value, the Actual Production column of the Provider Goal Setup screen is used.
-
For the No. Of Days Worked value, the Working Days column of the Provider Goal Setup screen is used.
-
-
To prefill the Working Days column of a provider, the logic of the Autofill method of the Provider Goal setup screen has been used. So, Working Days for a provider will be updated by the value of the Autofill for a provider in that month.
Unique Cases
-
To calculate Daily Goal for a provider in an office, the last six months' actual productions are considered.
Between the last six months, only those months will be considered in which the provider at least has a production amount or has working days.
-
The Average Production per Working Day for a provider is calculated for each of the last six months in which the provider at least has a production amount or has working days and the average is taken to prefill the Daily Goal of that provider. This means between the last six months, only those months will be considered in which the provider at least has a production amount or has working days.
-
To calculate the Average Production per Working Day for a provider for a month the following formula is used.
Average Production per Working Day = Actual Production / No. Of Days Worked
If the Working Days column for the provider is 0 in the Provider Goal setup screen, then this value is replaced by the value that Autofill would have returned for the provider on that particular month. If the Working Days column of the Provider Goal setup screen and Autofill both return 0, then the No. Of Days Worked value is considered as 1.
-
If for a provider, the average of the Average Production per Working Day for the last six months is a negative value, then the daily goal value will be set as 0 for that provider.
-
When it is the last day of a month, then while considering the last six months to calculate Actual Production, those six months will include the current month too, otherwise it will not. For example, if it is April 25, 2023, then the last six months will be October, November, December, January, February, and March. But if it is April 30, 2023, then the last six months will be November, December, January, February, March, and April.
