Access the charting module via one of three options –
(1) Click the word “Charting” and choose the desired chart option from the drop-down box – “Advanced Charting” or “Perio Chart”
(2) For Advanced Charting, click the white crown tooth icon in the picture toolbar
(3) For Perio Chart , click the blue crown tooth icon in the picture toolbar
When either the Advanced Charting or the Perio Chart is active, to switch to clinical notes section, click the Progress Notes button.
The user may move the Progress Notes window around the screen by grabbing the window’s title bar, and moving it to a more convenient location on the computer screen.
Click the Add New Note.... button.
Notes may be manually written in the large white text box on the right side of the screen.
Pre-designed macros may be incorporated into the notes section. Click on the desired category, and choose the desired macro.
o To see the details of any macro, click once on the macro name.
o The details of the first macro in the category will be displayed automatically for approximately five (5) seconds.
o To suppress the preview of all macros, place a checkmark in the box at “Hide Macro Preview”.
o To cancel the preview of a selected macro, click the Cancel button in the Preview for Selected Macro window, or select a different macro.
o Click the Add to Notes button to place the macro text in the notes section.
o Multiple macros may be entered to a patient record at one session. Select each desired macro and add to patient notes as described above.
Likewise, any combination of macros and manually written notations may be included in the note.
If desired, the Tooth#, Surf, Region button may be clicked so that easy entry of tooth, surface, and/or region information may be entered in the clinical record.
Click the Save button when finished.
Note: Once a Progress Note has been entered to the patient record, it may be amended or edited on the day it was entered. Once the current date has passed, the progress not cannot be amended or edited. It may, however, be stricken through, and the information re-entered.
