Denticon advises that every provider who treats patients is recorded as a provider – no matter if the provider is a permanent staff member, or a temporary staff member. That way, the patient's record is legally correct regarding the treatment and care provided by your office. When the claim is submitted, not only will the billing provider (the office) be indicated on the claim, the treating provider will be indicated on the claim form.
To add a new provider:
· Click the word “Setup” and choose the “Providers” and “ Provider Setup ” options from the drop-down box
· Click the Add New Provider button
· Follow the xxx >> buttons through the setup steps
· At the final screen, click the Save button; and confirm the addition to complete the provider setup
While all tabs may be addressed, the more important tabs are:
o Schedule – to indicate which days of the week that a provider treats patients; and which hours of those days
o Operatories – to indicate in which operatory/operatories a provider may have appointments for patient care
· Click the Save button, and confirm the changes
Once a provider is input:
· patient appointments may be entered for the provider
· treatment planned procedures may be recorded for the provider
· treatment planned procedures may be completed for the provider
· claims may be generated for the provider
· insurance payments may be entered toward the procedure’s provider
· patient payments may be entered toward the procedure’s provider
Whenever the provider should no longer be used for patient transactions or appointments, the provider may be inactivated.
