The error occurs when the user chooses the same plan as used by another family member, which carries with it during the attachment to the second patient the information that is recorded for the original and/or current subscriber. Usually that subscriber information is correct because each family member has the same plan with the same subscriber; however, in this case, although the plan is the same, the subscriber is different so you should search for the plan via “All Insurance Plans” vs. choosing the same plan from the “Account Plans.”
If more than one person need to show a self-subscriber relationship to the same plan, the plan must be entered more than once to the account – one time per person.
For the first member of the account, attach the plan. Indicate the self-subscriber information in the Add/Edit Primary Dental Plan screen.
For the additional member, indicate the appropriate self-subscriber information in the Add/Edit Primary Dental Plan screen. For each of the remaining members who need to have the same plan, search the insurance plan database for the plan, ensuring the search parameter indicates “All Insurance Plans” instead of “Account Plans.”
