According to the ADA guidelines in The ADA Practical Guide to Dental Procedures , a dental provider may appear on the ADA claim form only if the provider is a treating dentist.
Denticon suggests that the hygienist be indicated in the Denticon setup as a “dentist” provider type instead of a “hygienist” provider type. This allows that that the hygienist appears on the ADA claim form as a treating provider, which is acceptable in various states.
The hygienist title should be indicated as correct:
- RDH
- EPDH
The hygienist title ensures that the correct degree designation appears throughout the Denticon program and its reports.
