Overview
PreAuth Requirement Built-in Alerts adds pre-authorization indicators directly into the Denticon treatment plan workflow. Row highlights and modal alerts now surface each procedure's pre-auth requirement status — Yes or No — based on payer rules, so billing staff are informed at the point of treatment planning rather than discovering the requirement at claim submission.
Note:
This feature is available in Denticon's treatment planning workflows starting June 5, 2026. Pre-auth status is determined by payer rules configured in your system.
The problem it solves
Prior to this update, Denticon's treatment plan workflows had no in-workflow indicator that a procedure required pre-authorization. Billing staff had no signal during treatment planning — the requirement only became apparent when a claim was denied after submission.
This gap resulted in preventable claim denials, time-consuming resubmission cycles, and added administrative burden on billing teams who had to chase down pre-auth approvals after the fact.
Note:
Claim denials due to missing pre-authorization are one of the most common and costly billing errors in dental practices. Catching them earlier in the workflow significantly reduces rework.
How it works
When a procedure is added to a treatment plan in Denticon checks the associated payer's rules and surfaces the pre-auth requirement status inline — before the claim is ever built or submitted.
Note:
Pre-auth status indicators are driven by payer rules in your Denticon configuration. Contact your implementation team if a payer's rules need to be updated.
