When the patient move feature is used to separate a patient from the Old Account to a New account, the old account isn't moved, but marked as inactive and a new Patient is created. Now you have 2 patients. The Original aka Old patient is marked as Inactive and a New Patient is created.
Note the following regarding the NEW Patient created:
1. Patient's future treatment plans and appointments will be moved
2. Progress Note and Patients Notes are moved
3. Patient's basic information along with payment plans will be copied
4. Patient's ledger history will NOT be moved/copied
5. Xrays are not moved and should be transferred to the new account
6. Completed and Pre-Existing Restorative Charts are not moved.
7. Perio Charts are not moved
If using Apteryx- Dentiray Capture or Dentiray Web, here's a link on how to move those xrays
How can we transfer images from one patient to another in Dentiray Web?
If using any other xray provider, please connect with them for guidance on updating the xray record.
In this case, Denticon recommends adding a Flash Alert on both patients. On the Inactive Patient it should say: This patient is INACTIVE. Information here is for reference only. For services rendered after the move date, please use the ACTIVE patient.
For the New Patient created it should say: For services rendered prior to mm/dd/yyyy please find inactivated patient by searching and including Inactive to reference prior history of services and claims.
The good news is another user submitted a request to our developers to consider copying the ledger over and our team is working on adding this soon. To view, vote, or subscribe to this request, Go to Help>Submit Product Suggestion and type 'move patient' in the search box.
Note: If there is no ledger history in the existing account, when the patient is moved, the old account will no longer exist. There will only be 1 account in Denticon, the new account where the patient was moved to.
