Introduction:
When adding in a provider to Denticon, one of the setup fields is "Provider Type", the provider type determines what actions can be entered into the system under the provider.
Issue description:
If a provider is active and is assigned to the office but is not appearing as available to enter transactions under, it is possible that their provider type is setup to be "Assistant" or "N/A".
For an "Assistant" or "N/A" provider:
- Procedures and appointments may not be associated to the provider
- Claims cannot be generated for the provider
- Providers will not list for selection in the following screens:
- Transaction Entry - Edit Treatment
- Treatment Plan - Edit Treatment Plan
- Appointment - Edit Procedure
Signs:
When entering a transaction, the drop down to select a provider will be missing the provider, they will not be available for selection. When reviewing the Provider Setup screen and selecting the provider, they will show as "Active" and assigned to the office. The provider type will show either "N/A" or "Assistant".
Basic troubleshooting steps:
- Go to Setup>Providers>Provider Setup.
- Select the provider.
- The "Info" tab should show "Yes" in the "Active" field.
- The "Info" tab should show "Dentist" or "Hygienist" in the "Provider Type" field.
- The "Works At" tab should show the current office is assigned to the provider.
