Introduction:
When changes are made to fee schedules, it does not retroactively change the fees on any procedures that were entered into the treatment plan or in the appointment block. Because of this, there is a box on the edit treatment screen marked "Re-estimate at posting", when this box is checked the fees will re-estimate based on the current coverage/benefits and fee schedule attached to the patient.
Issue description:
Sometimes, a fee needs to be manually edited to something other than what is on the fee schedule. If a user manually updates a fee and notices that when posting to the ledger the previous fee still shows they should check to see that the "Re-estimate at posting" box isn't marked.
Signs:
Basic troubleshooting steps:
- Click on the procedure you would like to edit in either the Treatment Plan screen or in the appointment block.
- Check to ensure the Re-estimate at posting box is unchecked.
Best Practices:
Denticon does not advocate to post procedures from the appointment book.
Instead, we advocate to re-estimate the procedures in the Treatment Plan screen first, then post the procedures from the Treatment Plan screen. That way, the current applicable fees are reported to the patient's ledger.
