Most insurance plans roll-over benefits at the beginning of the year, on January 1. How can we reset insurance plans so patients have new benefits at the beginning of each year?

Each plan has an anniversary month and day.

There is a process where monthly you can reset the maximum for the current month by going to Setup - close out.  This section is used to "Reset Insurance Benefits" of all patients in this office whose insurance plan anniversary month is equal to what you specify below.

What this will do is reset the remaining maximum and deductible to the plan's default for all patients whose plan's anniversary month is in the month specified to reset.

If you don't reset the anniversary proactively you can reset it on a patient by patient basis manually in the 'Primary' Insurance screen by updating the Deductible and Maximum information.

Although plans can have anniversary months throughout the year, the most popular is the January 1.

Run the utility on the 2nd of the month, it will reset the benefits of everyone whose benefits expired on the 1st of the month.
