An insurance claim for our patient has an attachment that may be required by the insurance carrier – xray, periodontal charting, etc. What is the best protocol for submitting an attachment?

Attachment(s) may be attached directly to a claim within the create claim window in Denticon, or through your Claims Clearinghouse website.

Through your 3rd party Claims Clearinghouse:

·   Open the office’s 3rd party Claims Clearinghouse website

·   Highlight the patient's name

·   Double-click to select the patient

·   The screen will indicate which type of attachment is needed/required

·   Attach periodontal chart per third party Claims Clearinghouse instruction

·   Click the Save button

·   The user is returned to the main screen

·   The status of the attachment request has been changed to “Ready to Send”

Through create claim window in Denticon:

·   Create claim for procedure requiring attachment

·   Click "DXC Attachment Required" to check if DentalXChange attachment is required for submission, the screen will indicate which type of attachment is needed/required

·   Click DXC Claim Attachment 

· Enter Narrative if necessary. Narrative MUST be entered prior to attachment if needed. Narrative cannot be added/edited once images are uploaded

·    Place attachment by clicking "Add Perio Chart" and/or "Upload Image or "Capture Image" 

·   Click the Ok button and then Save button

·   The user is returned to the main claim screen

·   Enter Claim Fill-out information if needed and then click E-claim to send claim to batch for transmission
