It is advised to make the patient inactive on a plan rather completely remove an insurance plan from an account, especially if there are outstanding claims.
It is not advised to delete a plan from the patient insurance history.
To make the patient inactive on the plan, click the Primary insurance button to access the Add/Edit Dental Plan screen. Change the “Patient Relation to Subscriber” field to read “None”. Click the Save button, and confirm the change.
Secondary insurance can be made inactive in the same manner. For secondary insurance, remember to change both the “Patient Relation to Subscriber” and the “Sec(ondary) Sub(scriber) Relation to Prim(ary) Subscriber” to “None”.
