It is advised to make the patient inactive regarding the plan rather than deleting the plan, especially if there are outstanding claims.
It is not advised to delete a plan from the patient insurance history.
To change the insurance plan, click the Primary insurance button to access the Add/Edit Dental Plan screen.
In the “Search Text” and “Search For” fields, indicate the appropriate search information. If the family member is on a plan that is already attached to another family member, ensure the “Search In” field reads “Account Plans.” If the family member has a plan that is not already attached to another family member, ensure the “Search In” field reads “All Insurance Plans.” Click the Search button to located matches to the search criteria.
If the desired plan is listed, double click the selection to make the plan active for the patient.
Proceed as described for attaching insurance plans.
Click the Save button, and confirm the change.
Secondary insurance can be changed in the same manner.
