By default, DEXIS automatically inherits its primary date and time formatting from the local Windows Regional Settings
However, when entering or modifying data within the software, the system recognizes a few flexible default behaviors:Birthdate Data Entry Formats. When entering a patient's Date of Birth (DOB) manually into DEXIS, the software accepts and auto-formats three default structures:
- Slashes:
MM/DD/YYYY(orM/D/YYYY) - Dashes:
DD-MM-YYYY(orD-M-YYYY) - Raw 6-Digit String:
MMDDYY(Typing 6 continuous digits without spaces, dashes, or slashes will auto-convert into the default system format)
Match Your System's "Short Date" Format
The Denticon Bridge relies entirely on the local computer's Windows configuration to hand off patient data strings like the Date of Birth. If Denticon is pushing a date style that your local Windows environment isn't expecting, DEXIS will fail to auto-convert it.
- Close both Denticon and DEXIS.
- Open the Windows Control Panel and select Region.
- Under the Formats tab, ensure your Short date is explicitly set to
MM/DD/YYYY. - Click Apply and restart your computer.
