1. What Is MyTooth?
MyTooth is an add-on web application for Denticon (and Cloud9) that enables dental offices to manage online patient intake forms, appointment scheduling, and patient communications. It provides a fully branded, patient-facing experience that syncs data back to Denticon in real time.
2. How Does MyTooth Connect to Denticon?
MyTooth authenticates with Denticon using an API Key and Secret tied to a Practice Group ID (PGID). The setup process:
- Office manager enters their API Key, Secret, and PGID in the MyTooth PMS Authentication screen.
- MyTooth calls Denticon to validate credentials and stores the mapping.
- All enabled Denticon locations are synced automatically upon connection.
- A master resync can be triggered manually from the MyTooth admin panel at any time.
3. MyTooth Environments and URLs
| Environment | Admin / Office Manager | Patient Booking | Patient Forms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Demo | https://demo.mytooth.io | https://demo.mytooth.io/patients/scheduling | https://demo.mytooth.io/patients/forms/verify |
| Dev | https://dev.mytooth.io | https://booking.dev.mytooth.io/[token] | https://forms.dev.mytooth.io/[token] |
| Production | https://www.mytooth.io | https://booking.mytooth.io/[token] | https://forms.mytooth.io/[token] |
4. Initial Setup: Signing Up a New Practice
- MyTooth generates a sign-up link tied to the practice PGID in Denticon.
- The office manager opens the link and signs up with an email and password (org name and PGID are pre-populated).
- MyTooth creates the organization, admin user account, API key, and API secret hash.
- Denticon is updated via stored procedure with new connection details and OID mappings.
- MyTooth tests the connection, saves credentials, and triggers a master resync — all in a single transaction. If any step fails, the entire process is rolled back.
- Upon success, the office manager logs in with their new credentials.
5. Adding a New Denticon Location to an Existing Practice
- Log in to the production server and run the location-mapping script for the new OID.
- Log in to the MyTooth admin portal for the associated PGID.
- Trigger a master resync (this process can take considerable time).
- Log out and log back in to verify the new location appears correctly.
6. Managing Forms and Packets
MyTooth allows offices to build custom patient intake forms and group them into Packets. Key capabilities:
- Generic forms use a public URL accessible to any patient.
- Patient-specific forms use a magic link (unique per patient) generated from PGID + OID + PatID.
- Forms are sent to patients via SMS or email; completed data syncs directly to Denticon as patient notes (PATNOTES table).
- Default forms and packets are provided out-of-the-box.
- Before a form or packet can be deleted, MyTooth checks whether its URL is referenced in any active DPC campaign.
7. Online Scheduling
MyTooth provides a patient-facing booking site via a unique URL that can be embedded on the office website. Patients browse available slots, choose a provider and appointment type, and book online. Appointment types and availability are synced from Denticon in real time. Confirmed appointments are logged in Denticon’s APPTH table with Created By = “MyTooth.”
8. User Management
MyTooth maintains its own user directory, independent of Denticon. Office managers can:
- Create and manage user accounts with roles: Admin, Support, etc.
- Assign users to specific office locations.
- Manage user profiles (name, email, role, photo).
9. Communication Settings
For Denticon-connected practices, SMS and email are routed through DPC (Denticon Patient Communication). Managers configure and test communication settings per location directly within MyTooth.
10. Denticon Integration Touch Points
- Messaging Hub (MH) / Two-Way Communication (TWC): Denticon users can send MyTooth form URLs to patients directly from within Denticon without switching applications.
- Magic Links: Patient-specific, secure form URLs generated from PGID + OID + PatID for personalized form experiences.
- MyTooth Toolbar Icon: Displays a live counter in Denticon for unread form submissions and new bookings. Accessible via toolbar or Utilities > MyTooth Forms and Appointments.
- MyTooth Reports: Two report tabs in Denticon’s Utilities menu: “Forms Submitted via MyTooth” and “Appointments Booked via MyTooth,” filterable by date, office, and provider.
- DPC Campaign Integration: MyTooth form and packet URLs appear as merge tags in the DPC Auto Campaign editor under “Office Setup > MyTooth Form/Packet URLs.”
