Problem experienced by users
Some patients were unable to sign up for or log into the online Patient Portal. Even though they entered the same email address their practice had on file in Denticon, the portal showed an error stating the email was incorrect.
What has been fixed
This fix ensures that whenever a new Responsible Party is created from patient data in the following workflows, the appropriate records are created and kept in sync so that the Patient Portal can validate the email address correctly:
Move Patient to a new or existing Responsible Party
Copy Clinical History to a new or existing Responsible Party
patient is moved or when their clinical history is copied to a new account. This ensures the email address stored in Denticon is correctly recognized by the Patient Portal, so patients affected by these scenarios can now sign up and log in without seeing the “email isn’t correct” message.

Patient Overview
Issue
In some cases, users were unable to open a patient’s Medical History or Medical Alerts in Denticon.
Clicking Patient Overview → Medical Alerts showed an error instead of opening alerts.
This affected both offices and vendor API workflows that rely on viewing submitted medical histories in the Denticon UI.
Fixed
We corrected an error in how Denticon validates patient information before loading Medical History and Medical Alerts. This resolves the issue that caused the“An error occurred while trying to check if patient demographics data exist.” error for certain patients.
Modules Impacted
Patient Overview – Medical Alerts
Patient – Medical History
Result
Users can now open Medical Alerts and Medical History as expected without error for all affected patients.

AppointNow |
AppointNow: Updated Contact Fields & SMS Consent Controls Summary (What’s New)AppointNow has been updated to better align with TCPA SMS consent requirements by refining phone and email field behavior during online booking. Why This MattersSMS consent regulations require clear, explicit opt-in before sending text messages. These updates help practices remain compliant while reducing regulatory risk and ensuring patients provide proper authorization before receiving SMS communications. Who Is ImpactedPractices using AppointNow for online booking Patients booking appointments online via AppointNow What to Expect / How It WorksWith this update, AppointNow contact collection and consent handling now works as follows: Phone Number Optional: Patients are no longer required to enter a phone number when booking online. Conditional SMS Consent: If a patient enters a phone number, an SMS consent checkbox is now required before the appointment can be submitted. Email Required: An email address is now required for all online bookings to ensure a reliable primary communication method. Action Required: No configuration changes are required. Practices should review internal workflows to ensure teams understand that SMS messages will only be sent when patient consent is collected during booking. Additional Notes:These updates support compliance with evolving SMS consent requirements and help protect practices from unauthorized messaging risk. |

DENT-19749, DENT-19118 |
Enhanced the integration between Apteryx Apteryx and Denticon to more accurately identify which office an image was captured at. The system can now reliably resolve imaging events to the correct Denticon office location — including support for Chart ID lookups — reducing manual workarounds for vendors and enabling more precise, office-level AI overlay controls. Release Notes Improved Accuracy for Dental Imaging and Your ChartWe’ve made behind‑the‑scenes improvements to how dental images are connected to your personal chart and visit location. Images captured during your appointment are now more accurately linked to patient Chart ID and the exact office where they were taken, even within multi‑location practices. This helps ensure your records are complete, organized, and tied to the right visit and care team. What this means for you:
These improvements help your dental team access the right information faster, so they can focus on providing you with high‑quality care. |

DENT-19666 |
Improved how Progress Notes handle empty scanned files to reduce unnecessary errors. Release Notes Improvement: More Reliable Progress Notes SubmissionWe resolved an issue that could occasionally cause Progress Notes to be flagged as errors on our end — even when they were entered successfully by the user. This occurred when Progress Notes were entered without a file attachment (which is an optional step). The system was performing an unnecessary file lookup in these cases, resulting in background errors that did not affect the user experience but could interfere with our internal monitoring.
