This article explains how Denticon Practice Analytics (DPA) tracks treatment plan data, including the statuses monitored, key metrics, and how to identify patients with unscheduled treatment.
Treatment Plan Statuses Tracked in DPA
DPA tracks four treatment plan statuses:
- Diagnosed: Treatment has been identified but not yet acted on.
- Accepted: The patient has agreed to the treatment.
- Scheduled: The treatment appointment is on the calendar.
- Completed: The treatment has been performed.
Case Acceptance Rate
Case Acceptance Rate measures how effectively diagnosed treatment plans are being converted into action.
- Formula: (Count of Accepted + Scheduled + Completed Treatment Plans ÷ Total Count of All Treatment Plans) × 100
- Above 95% = Green
- 85–95% = Yellow
- Below 85% = Red
Note: All diagnosed treatment plans — including older, unaddressed ones — are included in the denominator. A large backlog of historical unaccepted plans can lower this rate. Use the Case Acceptance Rate Details drill-through report to identify specific unaccepted plans.
% Unscheduled Patients with Treatment Plans
This metric represents the portion of diagnosed treatment plan value that remains unscheduled.
- Formula: Total Fee Amount of Unscheduled Treatment Plans ÷ Total Fee Amount of Diagnosed Treatment Plans
- A high dollar amount here often indicates a significant revenue opportunity — patients with accepted treatment who haven't yet scheduled their care.
