This article explains the provider-level performance metrics available in the Denticon Practice Analytics (DPA) Provider Breakdown dashboard.
Provider Utilization
Provider Utilization measures how much of a provider's available schedule time is actually booked with appointments.
- Formula: (Provider Working Hours ÷ Provider Available Hours) × 100
- Working Hours: Total scheduled appointment time, excluding Cancelled, Blocked, and Missed appointments.
- Available Hours: The provider's configured schedule time, minus applicable holidays, with the following priority order applied:
- Provider Schedule
- Enterprise/PGID Holidays
- Office Holidays
- Office Open Exceptions
- Provider Holidays
- Provider In-Office Exceptions
Provider Retention Rate (12 Mo)
This metric tracks patient loyalty and the effectiveness of recall programs by measuring how many recare patients returned within a 12-month window.
- Specifically, it counts patients who had a recare exam code (D0120 or D0145) in a date range 12 months prior and then returned within the following 12 months.
Actual vs. Scheduled Production
This metric compares the production a provider actually generated versus what was originally on their schedule.
- Formula: (Actual Production ÷ Scheduled Production) × 100
- Target: 150%
- Below 135% = Red
- 135–149% = Yellow
- 150%+ = Green
Provider Scorecard Visibility
DPA only displays providers in the scorecard who have a non-zero value in at least one metric. Providers with zero values across all scorecard metrics are hidden from the default view.
- To verify a hidden provider's data, use the right-panel filters — hidden providers remain accessible via the filter for data verification purposes.
- Confirm the provider has transactions in the selected date range and is correctly associated with an office in Denticon configuration.
