It's likely a situation will be encountered where images are captured that would need removed from the patient's chart. This could be for a number of reasons, including but not limited to retakes, autofires, or incorrect images passed by a driver. Regardless of the reason, XVWeb does support the ability to remove the patient images from the chart. However, to ensure HIPAA compliance, images cannot be outright deleted. Instead, PlanetDDS recommends moving these unwanted images to a designated "TEST" or "DELETE" patient.
Purpose:
This article reviews how to move unwanted patient images to a "TEST" or "DELETE" patient, so the image is removed from the original patient chart.
Process:
- View the unwanted image(s) within XVWeb
- Use the Select tool, located on the left toolbar, to select the unwanted images.
- Additional Notes:
- If an entire series is unwanted, the series can simply be viewed to select the whole series.
- If multiple series are unwanted, the Select tool can be used to selected the individual series that are unwanted. Ensure at least one series is viewed to enable the Move To tool.
- Additional Notes:
- After selecting the unwanted images, click the Move To tool on the right toolbar
- Within the Move To tool, the images can be sent to an existing "TEST" or "DELETE" patient by searching under "Existing Patient" or a new "TEST" or "DELETE" patient can be created by specifying the patient information under "New Patient"

- Once the "TEST" or "DELETE" patient has been selected or specified, click the "Move" button and ensure the "Retain" option is selected to keep grouped images in their original series and "Flatten" to merge all images to a single series. This selection is will only have an effect when moving images across multiple series. In general, it is recommended to select "Retain".
- After clicking "Confirm", the unwanted images will be moved to the specified "TEST" or "DELETE" patient
