SmartAssist is a customizable feature in Denticon that allows you to track your patients progress through their appointment at a glance and make updates to that progress on the fly. The feature is customizable so you can decide what your office wants to track.
Current Options are:
- Payment - Does the patient have a previous balance or current balance?
- Email - Did the office collect an email address for the patient?
- Cell Phone - Did the office collect a cellphone number for the patient?
- Eligibility - Is the patient's insurance active?
- Medical History - Is the patient's medical history up to date?
- HIPAA and up to 4 other Consent Forms - Did the Patient fill out their HIPAA and any other consents?
- Progress Notes - Did doctor update their progress notes?
- Ledger Posting - Did the office charge the patient out for their procedures?
- Next Appointment - Did the office schedule that next appointment?
Clicking on an incomplete SmartAssist action item allows the user to make an update on the fly. Clicking on the SMS icon sends a text message to the patient so they can complete the item on their phone.
SMARTASSIST - View from the Scheduler
In the Scheduler, change the appointment status or right click and select “Open SmartAssist”. The SmartAssist panel will slide from the right side of the screens.
View from the Patient Overview
The patient header includes:
- Patient’s name (last, first)
- Email and Cell Phone (if on record)
- Patient ID, Date of Birth, Age, and Gender
- Appointment Provider
If a patient has an appointment for the current date, the Patient Overview will display incomplete SmartAssist items. Clicking on an incomplete SmartAssist action item allows the user to make an update on the fly.

SmartAssist Report Card
Before the Appointments: The SmartAssist Report Card is a valuable asset to run in preparation for a day’s appointments. It assists your team in knowing what forms, medical information, demographics, and payments will need to be updated.
After the Appointments: The Report Card can be run after a day’s appointments to get a high-level view of how well your office is completing the tasks. Your team can conduct follow up if anything was missed.
Performance can be measured by weekly/monthly reports with the completion percentage on the bottom row of the report.
Smart Assist must be enabled in each office before use.
