With the External Referral Management System, there's no need to make extra calls to the specialist's office. There’s no need to track down patient x-rays and treatment notes that all need to be sent in compliance with HIPAA. Everything can be completed through the External Referral Management System, whether the receiving office uses Denticon or not.
Since the specialist office can communicate using the eReferral Portal, they can let the referring office know that a procedure has been completed and provides status updates. Even the external specialist, who may not be on Denticon, can being from being able to communicate securely with your office using the external eReferral Portal.
How to setup the Provider/Office where patients will be referred?
- Setup / Referrals / Referrals
- Click the ‘Add Referral’ button
- In the Referred By/To field select ‘Both’
- Type Field enter ‘Doctor’, or the preferred option indicated by the office
- Complete the name and address fields
- Enter the email address where communications may be sent
- Select the provider/office Specialty
- Click Next
- Save
- Once the record is saved, click the ‘Verify Email’ button
An email will be sent to the receiving provider/office. Validation is required in order to use the External Referral feature. Once verified, the screen will display ‘Verified’
