Your Denticon and Imaging Data is secure and has not been breached.
You have received this error message because Chrome has begun checking usernames and passwords against known data breaches automatically. https://security.googleblog.com/2019/12/better-password-protections-in-chrome.html
Perhaps one of the websites you loginto outside of denticon may have the same email address or password as what you use within the Denticon application. One of those other sites may have experienced a data breach. Therefore you are receiving this message as a alert with the suggestion of changing your password in Denticon/Apteryx and in the other sites you may use.
Here is a scenario for better understanding:
If someone uses the same username and password on Denticon/XV Web that they use on other sites, it is possible that the breach warning will appear. Note again, it does NOT mean that Denticon or XV Web were breached. Notice how these other sites in our example below all use the same email and password. (a no no when it comes to best practices for integrity of security)
Example:
Apteryx |
Smile4me100! |
Walmart |
Smile4me100! |
Amazon |
Smile4me100! |
Office Depot |
Smile4me100! |
Let's pretend Office Depot has been breached. Although, Apteryx credentials were not compromised, the same password from Office Depot is being used somewhere within Denticon and it's applications and hence the Chrome warning message.
Therefore for better security it is recommended the user change their Apteryx and Denticon password. After changing your password, make sure to clear your cache for Chrome. You should no longer receive this error message.
