Introduction:
When offices generate statements within Denticon, there is an option to generate and apply finance charges to accounts with a past due balance.
Process description:
While the finance charges are able to be applied in bulk, there is currently not a mechanism in Denticon that would allow you to undo all the finance charges applied in bulk. You will need to generate a report of all patients that had the finance charges applied, then go to the ledger and delete the finance charge. If you cannot delete an adjustment due to a close out, you will need to adjust off the amount of the finance charge.

In order to perform the steps listed in the guide below, users will need the following security rights:
Reports-Daily Reports Screen Full Control
Transactions - Add/Post Adjustments (give user the right to delete and adjustment)
Step-by-step instructions:
- Go to Setup>Payment/Adjustment Types, and review the adjustment code that is used for your finance charges.
- Go to Reports>Daily Reports>Special Transaction Report.
- Choose to run the report for the date that the finance charges were applied. In the "Payment/Adj Codes" section select the code for the finance charge. Set the "Code/Category" section to "None". Group by code and sort by patient last name.
- Review the report results.
- For each patient on the report, you will need to select the patient and go to their ledger.
- Click the date of the finance charge to be brought to the edit payment screen, then click the delete button.
