Introduction:
Within Denticon, users are assigned to security groups via Setup>Security>Users>Group Memberships. These security groups have security rights attached to them that restrict which parts of the program the members of the group can access, and what actions they can perform within the system. If a user does not have the necessary security rights, they will not be able to make changes to their own security group. The user will need to locate someone in their organization that can make the necessary edits to security groups.
Process description:
Denticon users can run a report to obtain a list of users setup in their office. The report will show which security groups the users are assigned to. This list will allow the user to see who in the organization has admin access and will be able to help them.
Prerequisites:
In order to make any changes to a security group users will need the right "Setup-Security Groups Screen Full control."
To run the report detailed below, users must have the security right, "Reports-Lists Security Rpts Screen Full C "
Step-by-step instructions:
- Go to Reports>Lists>Security List>Security List>User List, and press print.
- Review the "Group Membership" column on the right side of the report.
- Anyone assigned to the administrator group should be able to assist with assigning a new security right to a security group.
Tips and best practices:
Depending on the office's setup there may be other security groups outside of the administrator's group that have the "Setup-Security Groups Screen Full control." right assigned. Any user attached to a group with that right will also be able to assist in assigning the necessary rights. To run a list of what security rights the various groups have users can go to Reports>Lists>Security List>Security List>Group Rights list.
