Introduction:
To streamline workflows and save time, Denticon Patient Communication allows users to create templates for SMS messages that can be used in automated campaigns as well as texting patients from the Message Hub.
Process description:
Users can go to the Template section of the Automated Campaign setup to create a new template. These templates can be used outside of automated campaigns to send direct SMS messages to patients via the Message Hub.
Prerequisites:
To create a template users will need to have the security right Utilities-Automated Campaigns Template Management assigned to their assigned security group.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Go to Utilities>Launch>Automated Campaigns.
- Click the icon for "Templates".
- Click the "Add New Template" button.
- In the "Template Type" field select SMS.
- Give the template a name, a subject that patients will see, and enter the text you'd like to send patients in the body section of the template.
- Press Save.
To use the template:
- Go to the patient's Patient Overview screen.
- Click the patient's cell phone number to launch Message hub.
- Select your template via the "Select Template" drop down.
Tips and best practices:
- When including links in a template Denticon recommends that offices do not send links that have been shortened using shared public URL shorteners, such as TinyUrl or free Bitly links. United States carrier policies discourage the use of shared public URL shorteners, and state that your URL shortener should be both proprietary and properly branded.
- When creating templates for Automated Campaigns it is best practice to not include the registration link found under Help>Downloads and Links, click the link for merge tags, select URL and the select the Patient Registration merge tag.
