Introduction:
Denticon is programmed to work with only two Chrome or Microsoft Edge windows open:
- Patient Window
- Scheduler Window
We advise users to not have multiple Denticon windows open at once or use tabbed browsing as this creates a scenario where the user can accidentally overwrite a patient's information. For example, if a user has one tab open to the scheduler and selects a patient, that patient becomes the "session patient". Then if the user goes to another tab with the patient window open and attempts to edit a different patient than the "session patient" it will cause this error.
This error happens when someone is logged into Denticon twice. Users can be logged into Denticon twice by using tabbed browsing, having Denticon open in a normal window and then open in an incognito window, or being logged into Denticon in two separate browsers. The error is intending to flag users that are logged in multiple times with different patients selected, to prevent them from unknowingly updating the wrong patient.
Tips and best practices:
In order to avoid tabbed browsing users should always login from the following screen which can be found by going to: Planet DDS: DentalOS Solutions for Growth
If users would like to bookmark Denticon, they should bookmark the page above.
Additional information:
After we added a new patient, we tried to access another patient record, but cannot locate it. The original patient record now has the new patient information, what happened?
