A user can accidentally overwrite a patient's information. It's very important to review what patient records you're working on before making any changes to that record.
Be especially careful to not have multiple Denticon windows open at once in tabbed browsing.
We have found that when this error has occurred, often the user has multiple Denticon windows active or the browser Auto-Fill settings are presenting stored information upon selection.
Why do we see the autofill function occurring when entering information in some areas of Denticon?
A user should always look in the dark blue bar underneath the icon toolbar to understand which task the user is performing:
- Edit Patient Information
- Step 1: Add Patient Information
If the screen's blue bar indicates "Edit Patient Information":
- The information that is input is overwriting the existing information
- Patient-related fields have data recorded
If the screen's blue bar indicates "Step 1: Add Patient Information":
- The user is adding a new patient record
- All the patient-related fields are blank
To correct this, the overwritten record should be:
- Accessed
- Edited
- Re-input with the correct patient information
Further, the new patient record should be added.
