Planet DDS product lines offer text messages for Application to Person (A2P) for both business and marketing communications with patients.
Business-Related Text Messages
• Appointment reminders and confirmations
• Balance notifications
• Security verification
Marketing-Related Text Messages
• Recall notification
• Review request
• Promotions or events
Messages are sent from either a local phone line or toll-free phone line. To prevent messages from being marked as spam and being blocked, all phone numbers must go through a registration process to have full access to A2P sending. Adhering to the stated use case and all applicable rules, A2P reduces risk for message filtering on local and toll-free SMS for all major US networks and some Canadian networks. The registration processes can take multiple weeks to be completed. More details available through:
Types of Registration
10DLC (10-digit long code) Verification
A2P 10DLC refers to a system in the United States that allows businesses to send A2P type messaging via standard 10DLC phone numbers. The registration is a multi-step process to vetting a business and the types of messages a company intends to send. Requirements include having a Federal EIN (Employer Identification Number), website and supplying opt-in verbiage on all forms including lead and patient intake.
How do I find my company’s EIN?
Your company’s accountant or financial officer should be able to find that information for you. You can also find that information on your company’s W-2 or other tax filings.
Toll-Free Vetting
The Toll-Free Messaging Verification process allows Planet DDS customers to send more important business messages, and make sure your customers see them. Users who adhere to their stated use case and all applicable rules will reduce message filtering on Toll-Free traffic towards all major networks in the US and Canada. Requirements include having a website and supplying opt-in verbiage on all forms including lead and patient intake.
Why is Patient Consent Required?
“The TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991) prohibits autodialed calls or text messages, as well as prerecorded calls, unless made with the prior express consent of the called party, to any telephone number assigned to a cell phone or other mobile device (such as a pager), unless the calls or text messages are: (1) made for emergency purposes; (2) free to the end user and have been exempted by the Commission, subject to conditions prescribed to protect consumer privacy rights; or (3) made solely to collect debts “owed to or guaranteed by the United States.” FCC Enforcement Advisory
Compliant Opt-in Verbiage
