In order to obtain the most accurate information about a patient following through with the recall, Denticon’s recall system requires that the recallable procedure be embedded into the future recall appointment.
If the appointment is entered, but there are no recallable procedure(s) embedded into the appointment, the recall reports do not understand that the appointment is for recall.
The Recall information within the patient’s Overview screen accurately indicates whether the future recall appointment has been associated with recall procedure(s).
Another consideration is that a patient's Recall Due Dates must be cleared for old procedures when they are switched to replacement procedures such as graduating from a D1120 Child Prophy to a D1110 Adult Prophy or from a D1110 Adult Prophy to a D4910 Perio Maintenance.
Note: clearing these old dates will give the impression that the patient is due for those procedures when the report is run for those codes if their previous due dates were not cleared.
When you post the new recall procedure to the patient's ledger, the Recall Due Dates screen will appear to give you an opportunity to clear out that no longer valid recall date. Or you can select Edit on the Recalls section of the Patient Overview Screen to update those due dates at any time.
Clear the Recall Due dates
(This patient would show as overdue for a D1120 despite having a D1110 scheduled. Clearing those old due dates will help eliminate confusion over whether this patient is actually due for a treatment or is already scheduled appropriately.)
