When entering an adjustment, Denticon’s programming allows for only four (4) ways that a Ledger may be affected:
- production / negative (Prod / -)
- production / positive (Prod / +)
- collection / negative (Coll / -)
- collection / positive (Coll / +)
If an office wishes to affect a provider’s production, a “production”-type adjustment should be selected.
If an office wishes to affect a provider’s collection, a “collection”-type adjustment should be selected.
If an office pays the provider on “collection” and does not wish affect the provider’s collection totals, a “production”-type adjustment should be selected.
If an office pays the provider on “production” and does not wish affect the provider’s production totals, a “collection”-type adjustment should be selected.
NOTE: The description of the adjustment is not important to the way that an adjustment affects a Ledger. Only the adjustment’s Type and Sign affect the Ledger calculation. The adjustment Description is intended in order for the office to be able to distinguish various adjustments in a Ledger.
