Note: So that a secondary insurance claim can be created automatically, insurance must be attached to the patient before treatment procedures are entered.
Secondary insurance plan details must be entered before treatment is entered. Dual dental insurance is indicated as “DD” in the “Bill” column of the Ledger.
You do have the option to create a secondary claim before receiving payment from the primary if you desire. Open the primary claim and then click on Create Secondary. You'll be given the option to print or E-Claim the secondary.
When payment for the primary insurance carrier is received and entered, the secondary insurance claim is added to the batch.
To print the secondary claim right away, simply click on the option that states "Please click here if you'd like to print it now" and then print. Otherwise, when you go to Utilities>Batch Claims Processing, you'll see the secondary claim.
