When Denticon hears of this issue, we usually discover that the patient has a previous patient record which is currently inactive. The inactive status is usually a result of a patient move from a previous Responsible Party account.
We recommend:
- search the patient on the ““Patient / Search Patient” screen, using the “Include Inactive Patient” checkmark option
- note the active and the inactive patient records in the search returns
- The original, now inactive patient record will reflect "Patient Moved to Acc# :######" within the original Ledger. This line provides wonderful information regarding where to look for additional patient record information. The line should never be removed from the Ledger.
- The new, now active patient record will reflect "Patient Moved from Acc# :######" within the original Ledger. This line provides wonderful information regarding where to look for additional patient record information. The line should never be removed from the Ledger.
- access the inactive patient record via the search returns
- access the patient’s Notes to view the previous uploaded document within the Adobe Acrobat Reader® screen
It is also recommended to enter a flash alert on the active patient record, indicating that previously recorded transactions and documents may be located within an inactive patient record.
