Overview and Definitions
Have you faced glitches when using Denticon, XVWeb or XVWeb Capture? For example, being unable to complete a task, or having login issues despite entering the correct password are just a couple of examples.
Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can often resolve these problems. This article explains the benefits of this practice and why it's an effective first step in troubleshooting.
Cached files are temporary data stored on your device after using an app or website. While they enhance access speed, excessive cached files can consume storage, impede loading of updated content, and disrupt performance.
Cookies, in contrast, store information for about 30 days and function like bookmarks for recent activities. For example, in XVWeb, security measures restrict users to one login per browser. If a previous session's cookie is active, it may cause errors when trying to access a different patient's X-rays. An overload of cookies or cached files can cause confusion and glitches, similar to how too many bookmarks can obscure your place in a book.
Clearing cached files and cookies is essential as browsers use this data to enhance performance. Over time, accumulated files can start to cause issues, so it's recommended to clear them weekly or biweekly to refresh your browser and fix glitches. This is especially important in Denticon, XVWeb and XVWeb Capture, where outdated cached data can create challenges. Below are instructions for clearing your cache and cookies in various web browsers.
