Summary: This guide walks you through the steps to safely disable AutoEligibility (DentalXChange integration) in Denticon.
You will continue to have access to DentalXChange Eligibility AI until the package is officially removed by DentalXChange. The timing for removing MFA and API connections should be coordinated based on your scheduled end date.
⚠️ Important: For organizations with multiple locations, each office must complete these steps individually.
Before You Begin
- Coordinate the timing of:
- MFA updates
- API connector removal
- DentalXChange (DXC) package cancellation
- This ensures your team maintains uninterrupted access to insurance portals.
- Once the DXC package is cancelled:
- You will lose access to DXC-managed MFA methods and API connectors
- DXC package removal typically takes up to 24 hours after submission.
Step 1: Update Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Insurance Portals
Before disabling AutoEligibility, update all MFA settings currently using DentalXChange contact details.
✅ It is recommended to complete this step at least 24 hours before your scheduled stop date.
For each insurance portal:
- Sign in using your existing credentials
- Navigate to Profile, Settings, or Security
- Remove the DentalXChange email and/or phone number
- Add your office’s preferred email or phone number
- Complete verification using the new contact method
✅ This ensures continued access after AutoEligibility is disabled.
Provide a checklist of common factors or configurations to verify so users can rule out potential causes of the issue.
Step 2: Disconnect DentalXChange API Connector
To stop data sharing between Denticon and DentalXChange:
- In Denticon, go to:
Utilities > eClaims Management > Eligibility > Eligibility AI > Administration > Connectors - Locate the DentalXChange connector
- Select the Trash icon
- Type
revokewhen prompted - Confirm the action
💡 Tip: Remove the connector on the last day you want eligibility services to run.
If a connector is removed by mistake, please contact Denticon Support for assistance.

Step 3: Update Denticon Office Vendor Settings
For each office no longer using AutoEligibility:
- Go to:
Setup > Offices > Vendor API Settings - Select DXC – Enhanced Eligibility
- Edit the settings
- Remove your office from the assigned list
- Save your changes

Step 4: Review Denticon Real-Time Eligibility Settings (If Applicable)
If your office will continue using Real-Time Eligibility without AutoEligibility:
- Go to:
Setup > Offices > Edit - Set Number of Days Before Appointment to your preferred value
- Save your changes

Step 5: Turn Off AutoEligibility at the Account Level
- Go to:
Setup > Account Info - Open the Advanced tab
- Under Third Party Settings, uncheck AutoEligibility
- Select Save
✅ AutoEligibility is now disabled for your account.

Step 6: Submit Request to Cancel DXC Package-(Denticon Support)
Once steps 1–5 have been completed, please update your existing ticket to inform our Support team that the process is finished. If you do not currently have an open ticket, kindly submit a new request to notify Support.
Upon confirmation, our team will coordinate with DentalXChange (DXC) to proceed with cancelling the package on their end.
*Please note that the DXC package must be removed through a formal request.
