NOTE: As of Feb 2026, Schick is aware of two issues impacting Schick 33 / AE USB 3.0 Sensors (Grey Cable):
- Previous Image Retention: Following a new exposure, the system may fail to fully clear the prior image, resulting in partial or complete display of the previous image. In some cases, the prior image may be overlaid onto the newly captured image.
- Intermittent Connection: Some customers have reported occasional intermittent connectivity between the Schick interface and the computer.
If either of the above behaviors are seen, and the steps provided in this article do not resolve the issue, please review 2026-02-IOSensorUpdate-Customer letter.pdf and refer client to Sirona.
XVWeb Capture clients using Schick 33, Elite, and AE model sensors should use the Schick Extension.
This XVWeb plugin is only compatible with Sirona’s IOSS driver kit, and is not compatible with previous driver kits, such as CDR.

The above settings are recommended as Planet DDS has seen the most success with these settings, but other combinations can be tried. Information on those filters should be direct to Sirona Schick IO sensor support.
