Baseline Image Quality Settings
If you are using an e2vII sensor and you need to change the image quality, try setting the values to match this image to start, then move onto General Image Quality Tips.
To access the image quality settings you will need to do the following:
- Launch DCV/XVCapture and select Advanced User Tools
- Select Preferences
- By default, the User ID is admin, and the Password is AKRON
- Select Imaging Extensions from the left side towards the bottom, click the red caret (>) next to Digital X-ray Image Capture, and select your sensor (If you don't see your sensor, please refer to Adding an Extension)
Auto-Firing / Images Returning Without Radiation Emission
Navigate to - Advanced User Tools > Preferences > Imaging Extensions > Expand ‘Digital X-ray Image Capture’ > Select the sensor extension > Hardware Settings > XVIS detection threshold
Setting Area
Raise threshold (standard setting is 250mV) and test again each time to see if it auto-fires. Continue raising until it idles successfully. Ensure the value is not too high, otherwise radiation emission may not trigger the acquisition.
If other PCs do not have the issue, it is recommended to match the functional PCs XVIS settings.
If the sensor fails to idle - and continues to auto-fire despite very high values, the sensor may have a hardware problem. Try another USB port if one is available. If still unsuccessful - test using demo program. If issues persist - refer to sensor manufacturer.
Slow Capture Speed
Adjust the ‘Integration Time’ setting for the sensor within extension options to get it to return images faster.
Higher integration time usually contributes to better connection and communication stability - please be aware. Typical values range from 3000 to 335.
