If you're trying to remove an office from Denticon but the "Delete Office" option in Office Setup is grayed out or unavailable, follow the steps below to inactivate the office instead.
Why Can't I Delete the Office?
Denticon restricts deletion of offices that are:
- Tied to existing patient records
- Associated with appointments, claims, or other historical data
To maintain data integrity, such offices must be inactivated rather than deleted.
Steps to Inactivate the Office
- Log in to Denticon with administrative privileges.
- Navigate to Setup > Offices > Office Setup.
- Locate the office you want to inactivate.
Click Edit Office>In the Office Name field, rename the office using the following format:
ZZZ - [Original Office Name] - Do Not Use
Example:
ZZZ - Downtown Dental - Do Not Use
- Click Save.
Why Use "ZZZ" and "Do Not Use"?
- "ZZZ" pushes the office to the bottom of dropdown lists, reducing the chance of accidental selection.
- "Do Not Use" clearly communicates to staff that the office is inactive and should not be used for scheduling or billing.
