When adding a patient, the first few fields will be Birth Date and Patient Last Name/Patient First Name/MI. After the first two characters of the First Name are filled, Denticon will automatically check if a patient with matching entries exists in your account. This will significantly reduce the number of duplicate records.
If matching records are in the account, the User is alerted and can view the matching results.
The User can then cancel out of adding the duplicate record. Or the User can continue with the current record. If there are no matching records, there will be no alert pop-up.
The tab order is now:
• Birth Date
• Last Name
• First Name
• Middle Initial
• The rest of the fields and tab order will remain the same.
This feature is also implemented on:
• Add New Member
• New Patient via Scheduler
• Quick Save
If patients are entered in twice or more than once, Denticon recommends inactivating the unnecessary accounts.
I’ve entered a patient in the system twice. How do I remove a duplicate patient?
