This ' Effective Date' feature will allow you to enter your new Fee Schedules well in advance of the New Year.
How to Add an Effective Date
At Setup > Fee Schedules > Fee Schedule Setup:
• Select a Fee Schedule.
• Click on “+ New Effective Date”.
• Enter a new Effective Date. To
• Enter a new Effective Date. To have the new schedule take effect in 2021, enter the date
01/01/2021.
• Choose to copy fees from an existing Effective Date. Or the User can select “None” for a blank
schedule.
• The User can apply an Increase/Decrease to the new Effective Date.
• Click “+ Create”.
• The fee amounts can be manually edited.
• Or an Excel file can be imported.
• Or fees can be copied from an existing Fee Schedule.
• When complete, click “Save”.
How Effective Dates are Utilized
The following screens utilize the Fee Schedule from the applicable Effective Date:
• Transaction Entry
• Treatment Plans
• Appointments
To view which Fee Schedule was applied, the User can find this when editing the record entered under
“Fee Schedule Used”. The name of the Fee Schedule and the applied Effective Date are listed.
How to View Effective Dates
To view an Effective Date, go to Setup > Fee Schedules > Fee Schedule Setup:
• Select a Fee Schedule.
• Select the date from the Effective Date menu.
How to Delete an Effective Date
To delete an Effective Date, go to Setup > Fee Schedules > Fee Schedule Setup:
• Select a Fee Schedule.
• Select the date from the Effective Date menu.
• Click on the “Delete Schedule” button at the bottom of the screen.
Effective Dates in Reports
Columns in reports with UCR and Total Production are calculated based on the Transaction Date and the
Effective Date.
In the following reports that have drop-down menus of Fee Schedules, the Effective Date is shown in the
menu as “ED”:
• Reports (Old) > Insurance Reports > Capitation Fee Schedule
• Reports (Old) > Lists > Procs/Fee List > Fee Schedule List
